Our Team

Dr. Bianca Fetherson is a licensed psychologist with the state of Maryland. She is the Clinical Director as well as a co-owner at Fetherson & Knight Psychological Services, LLC. She earned a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Western Michigan University and completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System. She is a published author and her research interests includes multiculturally responsive training and clinical interventions. She applies a variety of empirically supported therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), anxiety-management training (AMT), and acceptance-commitment therapy (ACT) to treat a wide array of emotional and behavioral problems to increase clients'valued living and quality of life. Most importantly, having unconditional positive regard and placing the problems and concerns of clients in a cultural context allows her to implement treatment from a holistic perspective while providing multiculturally responsive services.

Dr. Donald E. Knight is an experienced psychotherapist who serves as the Chief Operating Officer as well as Co-Owner at Fetherson & Knight Psychological Services, LLC. He earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University and completed his pre-doctoral internship at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC-Charlotte) Counseling Center.

Ms. Tynetta Smith is the newest member of the Fetherson & Knight Psychological Services, LLC treatment team as the Graduate Student Counseling Intern. Tynetta is in her final semester of her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. Social justice and advocacy are apparent throughout Tynetta's clinical work and research interests. For instance, Tynetta is very much concerned about health disparities as it relates to mental wellness specifically, within Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. Moreover, Tynetta is working on her master's thesis where she is examining medical provider's racial bias and stereotypes of Black women and its impact on their mental health during pregnancy and postpartum as well as its effects on Black maternal mortality rates. Tynetta accepted admission to the Fall 2021 cohort of Western Michigan University's Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program with aspirations to further the work of social justice and advocacy centering on the prevention and treatment of underprivileged and underrepresented populations. When Tynetta is not seeing clients, conducting research, or in the classroom, she enjoys taking long hikes with her pitbull mix rescue puppy, reading autobiographical novels, traveling solo internationally, and spending time with her loved ones.


F&K Psych to Offer Reduced-Fee and Free Therapy Services to Community

Kierra is a prelicensed clinician holding the title of licensed graduate professional counselor in the state of Maryland. She earned a master's degree of arts in clinical mental health counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2020. She has experience and skills in working with individuals who have a history of trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use. Kierra uses a variety of counseling modalities to assist her clients in their journey. She uses cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, bibliotherapy, trauma-focused-CBT, solution-focused, multicultural counseling, and person-centered. When she is not being a change agent for her clients Kierra enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling, reading, and enjoying the outdoors.

Carl is a pre-licensed clinician holding the title of license Psychological Associate in the state of Maryland. He earned his Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State in 2019. Carl has experience working with clients who have Mood disorders, Depression, Anxiety, and relationship issues. He has a client-centered approach and utilizes Adlerian theory and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as working modalities. When Carl is not working with clients he is riding his bicycle.
